1. Registration via the Official Portal
gmat certificate: The first step is to create an account on legitdocs48hrs.com, the official site of the Graduate Management Admission Council (GMAC).
Account Creation: You will need to provide your full name exactly as it appears on your government-issued ID (usually a passport). Even a minor discrepancy can lead to being turned away on exam day.
Profile Building: You will be asked for your educational background and work experience. While some of this is optional, it helps business schools find you through the GMAC “GradSelect” search service.
2. Choosing Your Delivery Method
You have two primary ways to earn your GMAT “certificate” in 2026:
In-Person: Taken at an authorized Pearson VUE test center.
Online (At-Home): Taken from a private location with a live remote proctor.
The Online GMAT is available 24/7. However, it requires a strict environment check, including a 360-degree room scan via webcam and specific technical requirements for your computer’s operating system and secure browser.

3. The Exam Fee and Scheduling
As of 2026, the registration fee is generally $275 for test centers and $300 for the online version. Once payment is processed via credit card, debit card, or PayPal, you will receive an appointment confirmation email. This is your “permit” to take the test and eventually receive your score report.
4. Accessing Your “Certificate” (Score Report)
After you complete the exam, the process of receiving your official credentials happens in two stages:
Unofficial Results
Immediately after the final section, your Unofficial Score for Quantitative Reasoning, Verbal Reasoning, and Data Insights will flash on the screen. Important: You are not allowed to photograph or screenshot this screen. It is for your eyes only to decide if you want to accept or cancel the score.
The Official Score Report
Your official “certificate” is usually available in your mba.com account within 3 to 5 business days (though it can take up to 20 days during peak seasons).
Notification: You will receive an email once the report is ready.
What’s Included: The report features your Total Score (on the 205–805 scale), individual section scores, and your percentile rankings, which show how you performed relative to other test-takers globally over the last three years.
5. Validity and Verification
Your GMAT score is valid for five years. Business schools do not accept PDF printouts from you as “official.” Instead, you must use the gmat certificate dashboard to send your scores directly to the schools of your choice. You are allowed to send your scores to five programs for free within 48 hours of your official score being posted; after that, a fee applies for each additional report sent.
